Doraville Metal Roofing

Is metal worth it for your house? Depends on how long you are staying. We will help you figure it out.

Should You Go Metal?

Why do people pick metal? It stands up to strong wind, rain and leaves slide right off, and it asks almost nothing of you for a very long time. Why do people pass on it? It costs more to put on than architectural shingles, and not everybody likes the look on their house. So which is right for you? Mostly it comes down to how long you will be there. Planning to stay for the long haul? Metal's long life can make up for the higher price. Thinking about selling in a few years? Shingles usually make more sense. We will price both on the same visit so you can compare real numbers. If you go with metal, the install has to be done carefully. The deck has to be solid. Underneath goes an underlayment rated for serious heat, since metal runs hot in summer. Edge and ridge trim gets cut and fit snug. Walls, valleys and pipes need flashing made for metal, since that is where metal roofs leak if they are going to. And panels grow and shrink with the weather, so they get fastened by the manufacturer's pattern to allow for it. We also plan the gutters and vents with it, because the roof works as one system.
